The federal government has initiated new laws that underpin the landmark Strategic Agreement it hammered out with industry - with the National Health Amendment (Enhancing the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme) Act 2021 introduced to the House of Reps yesterday.
The legislation initiated by Health Minister Greg Hunt paves the way for more than $5 billion in new drugs and expanded patient access along with increased supply security for medicines.
