About the opportunity
The Laboratory Assistant will perform manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators.

Duties

• Responsible for general maintenance and cleaning of chem lab
• Washing glassware for testing
• Performing routine tasks such as receiving chemicals,
• Filing
• Calibrations of showers and water baths – weekly
• Emptying lab waste containers
• Keep area organised
• Dispose non-toxic water samples
• Assisting analysts with testing
• May assist with making basic reagents

Skills and Experience

• Experience with PC – such as MS office and other laboratory programs
• Degree not required, seeking someone happy to do these general duties
• Previous experience as a laboratory assistant would be beneficial such as in pathology or pharmaceutical
• Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Ability to work as part of a team
