Pfizer's Comirnaty has become the first COVID-19 vaccine provisionally approved by the TGA as a booster shot, putting Australia in line to become one of the first countries in the world to receive a "whole population booster program" according to Health Minister Greg Hunt.
This morning, Australia's medicines regulator green-lighted booster doses of the mRNA vaccine for people aged 18 years and older, six months after their second dose of any of the COVID-19 vaccines registered for use in Australia.
