In a brutally frank discussion about the lived experience of patients, Rare Cancers Australia has used today's CanForum 2021 conference to call out "patient-centricity" as a buzzword that only gives an "illusion" of action.
Pulling no punches, RCA co-founder Kate Vines opened the conference describing the "living hell" rare cancer patients endure grappling with access to treatments - which are often their "best, last chance" - but are rarely PBS funded.
