Rare Cancers Australia has called for an Australian Code of Cancer Practice to be established to ensure the rights of cancer patients are consistently upheld in the real world.
A report by the National Oncology Alliance (NOA), Realising the Rights and Roles of Australian Cancer Patients, gathered submissions from patients and carers about the lived experience of cancer treatment. A key finding was the failure to deliver person-centred care, with a large gap between stated intent and tangible action.
