Department of Health Secretary Professor Brendan Murphy has spoken candidly about a decision he made to call out the federal government on a bad decision in the early days of the pandemic, even though he was told it could end his career.
Murphy did not divulge details of the government's mistake but said he felt that in his role at the time as Australia's Chief Medical Officer, he had to speak up.
