Almost 170 days since the federal government announced it would plough an undisclosed sum of money into building Australia's first large-scale mRNA manufacturing facility, finally a step forward with Health Minister Greg Hunt revealing the first cull of an approach to market is expected this week.
Although the announcement technically falls under the portfolio of new Industry Minister, Angus Taylor, it was Hunt who delivered the news that a short-list is imminent but he refused to buy into suggestions that Moderna was a front-runner.
