Cancer patients love Instagram

Patients with an aggressive form of blood cancer are taking to Instagram as a way of sharing personal health stories and their presence on the platform dwarfs that of patient group organisations and health organisations, according to Aussie researchers.

Led by Monash University researcher at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Catriona Parker, the findings published in PLOS ONE today (Tuesday), suggest that people with AML are using Instagram for social connectedness and support.
