Pfizer bumps vax supply to 40m

Prime Minister Scott Morrison today unveiled a new deal with Pfizer which will boost to 40 million the total number of doses of Comirnaty to be delivered to Australia by the end of the year.

It's a doubling of Australia's previous deal with Pfizer which stood at 20 million doses of the two-shot jab and follows a recommendation by vaccine advisory group ATAGI that the AstraZeneca vaccine be avoided in people aged under 50.
