Govt pushes Pfizer for more vax

The government says it is turning to Pfizer to make up the Covid vaccine shortfall created by restrictions placed on the use of AstraZeneca's vaccine in Australia.

The government revealed late yesterday that vaccine advisory group ATAGI had told it to avoid use of the AZ product in people aged under 50 although, the experts have left the final decision up to HCPs saying the vaccine should be held back except where the benefit clearly outweighs the risk.
