Pharma decades behind on tech

The pharmaceutical industry has been accused of lagging 20 to 30 years behind other sectors when it comes to the deep adoption of technology which has the power to improve innovation and fast-track approvals.

The Drug Information Association, a global not-for-profit forum for the healthcare product development industry, has warned that current development of biopharmaceutical therapies is "too expensive and too slow" and the industry must step up and leverage technology to speed the process and cut costs.
