Patients want approvals revamp

Patient groups want an overhaul of the way treatments are approved to speed up access and ensure quality of life becomes a central consideration, according to the latest submission put to the Zimmerman parliamentary inquiry.

The Australian Patient Advocacy Alliance (APAA) analysed a selection of 40-plus submissions to the inquiry from not-for-profit chronic disease patient advocacy organisations, identifying the most common areas of concern.
