Agonising choice for pharma

Pharma bosses are on the brink of making harrowing choices around giving Australian patients access to medicines versus returning profits for shareholders, thanks to a global power play over drug pricing, according to Abbvie boss Chris Stemple.

The US and China want the pharmaceutical industry to price match medicines with countries that pay the least - as set out in former US president Donald Trump's controversial Most Favoured Nation policy.
