Distributors prep for summer

Pharmaceutical wholesalers have assured the industry they are ready for any distribution challenges the summer may bring after managing the 2020 bushfires and Covid crisis without serious hiccups.

According to National Pharmaceutical Services Association (NPSA) chair Richard Vincent, Covid has prepared the distribution network for spikes in medicine demand along with combined investment of more than $650 million by member companies in two new automated distribution centres in NSW and Victoria.

"Throughout 2020 our member companies have demonstrated expertise in crisis situations with successful management of health logistics during the bushfires and COVID-19, both of which have placed extraordinary pressure on all supply chains," he said
