Addressing vaccine distribution, high levels of testing and addressing pandemic mental health impacts are crucial to preventing a resurgence of COVID-19 in 2021, Gardasil pioneer Professor Ian Frazer has said.
The government's COVID-19 vaccine and treatment strategy has secured access to three COVID-19 vaccines but Professor Frazer says in a report for the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS) that maintaining control and avoiding the health and economic costs of a viral resurgence will require strong public health and policy measures from federal, state and territory governments.
