Pfizer in Aus Covid vax race

Posted 15 October 2020

Pfizer has won a provisional determination from the TGA for a COVID-19 vaccine in Australia - just five days after AstraZeneca was granted the same for its Oxford University candidate, sparking speculation as to which pharmaceutical giant will be the first to market.

The granting of a provisional determination means that the TGA has decided that Pfizer is now eligible to apply for provisional registration for the vaccine in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG).
