Medicine mishaps cost $1.4B

"Medicine misadventures" are responsible for more than 250,000 Australians being admitted to hospital every year and costs $1.4 billion annually while also costing lives, said Ramsay Pharmacy general manager Michelle Lynch to mark World Pharmacist Day today (Friday).

Lynch said taking the wrong dose, not taking medication correctly or taking it with incompatible medicines resulted in 400,000 presentations to emergency departments every year
