Aust's $16m global funding first

The University of Queensland (UQ) has scored yet another first, obtaining funding of up to $16 million from the largest global not-for-profit antibiotic research and development fund for a new class of peptides which has the potential to replace antibiotics.

CARB-X is the largest supporter of pre-clinical antibacterial R&D in the world, investing US$480 million over six years in 45 projects across 10 countries.
