Roche buys Aus/Irish start-up

Roche has made an upfront cash payment of $617 million for a start-up company developing treatments for inflammatory diseases that was born of a partnership between the University of Queensland (UQ) and Trinity College Dublin (TCD).

In what the universities describe as "a landmark deal - one of the largest in Australian and Irish biotech history", Roche has acquired Inflazome for EU380 million, plus additional payments based on the achievement of certain milestones.
