Sigma turns away from PBS

Diminishing commercial returns linked to the PBS have seen Sigma Healthcare's reliance on the scheme slashed to just 50 per cent of the company's sales, with that figure expected to fall even further, CEO Mark Hooper said.

The CSO wholesaler, which has the largest pharmacy network in Australia with more than 1200 branded and independent stores, is busy building revenues that do not rely on the government-funded scheme in order to boost its bottom line.
